Let your clients catch their post-flight breath at gorgeously tranquil hotel Wallawwa, near the airport before moving onto the island’s Cultural Triangle. Here they’ll stay at Water Garden – Sigiriya followed by The Kandy House to allow time to seek out the region’s famous attractions and have plenty of time to relax in between sightseeing trips. Continue south west to reservoir-facing Camellia Hills for some blissful Tea Country therapy (walks, picnics and factory visits) before heading back to the airport.
This route works well on its own or combined with The Maldives though we recommend our excellent beach hotels, Kumu Beach, The Last House, The Villa Bentota and KK Beach if your clients require a beach stay. If you need to shorten this trip, you could choose either Water Garden – Sigiriya or The Kandy House (rather than both).
** If your clients are short on time, they could stay at Glenross Living instead of Camellia Hills. This relaxing hotel sits on the side of a valley 40-minutes’ drive inland from west coast Kalutara. Despite its proximity to the coast its lowland hill country setting gives a sense of Sri Lanka’s tea country on a smaller scale.
